Dear MBE: The recertification deadline was December 31, 2011. As a courtesy, we are providing an extension until January 20, 2012 to enable you to complete your recertification at no additional cost. Complete recertification renewals received between January 21 and February 3, 2012 will incur an additional cost of $150.00 which will be added to your normal membership fee(s). This should enable us to process your application in time to have it included as part of the NMSDC national database for 2012 business opportunities. A complete recertification renewal requires you to provide payment and all the necessary documentation for recertification i.e. signed affidavit and federal tax information. The closing recertification date for 2012 MBE certification is Friday, February 3, 2012. Certification Guidelines

The certification process is comprehensive. The process represents the requirements established by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), Inc. The timeline for the processing may run between 21 to 35 business days to complete once all documents necessary are provided. If the documentation is incomplete or does not meet our requirements, your company will be contacted. Incomplete information significantly lengthens the entire process (i.e., your package goes to the bottom of the applicant pool). Therefore, please do not send an incomplete application. First, owners interested in becoming a certified Minority Business Enterprise attend a Pre-Certification Briefing on the second (2nd) Monday of each month. Please register in the Events section of our website. Second, carefully review your financial information. Review your by-laws, operating agreement or partnership agreement to be sure you have the required information for the certification application....
