Library-Complete Replacement of Two Traction Elevators on West Side

Proposals are invited for the following work:
Bid Pack 1A - Selective Demolition and General Trades
Bid Pack 1C - Elevator
Bid Pack 1E - Electrical
This project involves the removal and replacement of 2 elevators, associated motors, and controllers in the Library Building. Contractors are to begin work on the North elevator and turn over tot he owner for normal use before starting work on the South elevator (there is to be one functioning elevator at all times).
The Substantial completion date for the project, as set forth in the project manual and drawings, is December 31, 2010, and the date when the project closeout process is complete per General Requirements Section 017000, Article 1.6 & 1.7, including final payment request successfully submitted to owner shall be December 31, 2011.

If you are currently registered, you may use your current username and password to access the system. NOTICE: Engineering and Architectural Services has implemented a policy change effective 2/1/2010. All plans and specifications (released for bid after 2/1/2010), will be sold as a FULL SET ONLY at the expense of the contractor, including addenda. Should you have questionsor concerns, please call the EAS front office at (517) 355-3372.
Criteria for companies submitting bids/quotes/proposals:
Pre Bid Site Inspection
A pre-bid site inspection will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 9:00 am. All interested Contractors or Bidders are encouraged to attend. Interested parties should meet at the Library Loading Dock. All Contractors submitting bids for the work will be held to have attended the pre-bid inspection and have visited the site prior to submitting bids.
Bid Security
Any basebid greater than $50,000 shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers' check, money order, or bid bond made payable to the Board of Trustees, Michigan State University inthe amount of not less than five percent (5%) of Base Bid.
